Subject: Many memories
We are at home, after an extraordinary trip wich will remind in our memories : we want to thank you for the organisation as well as for the present we received the last day.
Thanks to Herbie too, for waiting us at the airport : it was very pleasant to meet him.
Our accommodations in Pilgrim Rest was nice. The town is very charming. We wished we had more time to spend there for visiting this picturesque village. In fact we arrived tired and too late because of the delay of car delivery. By the way this day started like that : there was no water in “Town Lodge hotel” block in the morning.
The day after, we also wished to have more time to see all the points of view on the road to Blade River Canyon before arriving in Sabi Sabi.
When we left the bush lodge, we went across Kruger Park. We were quite surprised to have to pay special (high) price for non South Africans. But this was worthy as we have seen there a lot of animals too, from our car.
Nothing special to say about Barbeton : the accommodation and the dinner in “Bye Apart Ate” were OK. – This time electricity was missing – we took that as a travel adventure (next day the same adventure for a while in Santa Lucia).
Then we crossed the Swaziland : very specific atmosphere and … one more country for children to collect…
At Santa Lucia we spent a very good time – Igwalagwala Bed end Breakfast is a very pleasant place. We went to the beach at Cap Vidal with equipments lent kindly by Bruce (diving mask, tuba, sun umbrella, beach towels…..). Once again in St Lucia Wetland Park we observed the species we had never seen before. We have had a walk in the area just behind igwalagwala where we have seen a lot of crocodiles. The day after, before going to Wakkerstrom, we went for a cruise on the Santa Lucia Estuary where we had the chance to see many hippos and many wader birds.
The road to Wakkestrom was very pleasant and the accommodation in place too. We had a walk in the mountain around, in the evening and early morning : it was very nice and peaceful with the choir of birds and the frogs around, being stared by the cows (that resembled much to those in Switzerland).
We traversed Jo’burg centre back and forth by car and we spent few hours in Sandton before we got to the airport.
Next day at noon we were at home after having driven (on the right side) from the airport.
Since we came back we noticed that South Africa destination makes dream a lot of people as we relate our experience.
Notice : people from France should know that the day in SA starts and ends much earlier than in their country. It is worthy to wake up (and go to bed) earlier for not to miss the great experience. Don’t hesitate to advise them!Click here to view all testimonials |
