Module 7 - (8 days / 7 nights)
South Africa has long been one of the most popular golfing destinations worldwide, offering a large number of some of the best golf courses to be found, excellently equipped and situated in beautiful scenery. Visitors are always welcome and the green fees are reasonable.
Well known for its international, high profile golf tournaments, Sun City offers two world class courses in a unique Las Vegas style setting.
For a little flutter after the 19th hole, the Sun City resort also boasts a world class casino and the awesome Lost City resort and hotel - adding an opulent, yet genuine African flavour to your golfing experience.
In a single holiday, one cannot hope to experience all the golfing delights that the Johannesburg area offers, but certain courses should be placed high on any agenda.
Day 1
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, South Africa's biggest city and gateway to all the major tourist centres of South Africa, you are met and transferred to one of the recommended hotels or guesthouses in the heart of Sandton.
This region has to be one of the most under-rated for visitors on a golf holiday, with no fewer than 7 Platinum rated courses within 30 minutes drive from the centre of hotel district of Sandton. With another 30 golf courses in the same area, you will be spoilt for choice and quality.
3 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 & 3
A vehicle with a qualified driver/guide to be available for transfers to and from the golf courses for the duration of stay in Johannesburg.
A choice of two of Johannesburg’s top golf courses to be played over these 2 days.
Day 4
Depart with private vehicle and driver/guide for Sun City, a 2 hour drive from Johannesburg.
The Sun City and Lost City Resorts are one of the prime tourist attractions in South Africa. The complex, which is set on the slopes of a picturesque valley in the Pilanesberg mountain range captures the essence of an ancient African kingdom in opulent and astonishing architecture. A casino, the Valley of the Waves and two championship golf courses are just some of the many attractions.
4 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 4 – Day 7
The following golf courses will be played:
Gary Player Country Club
Acknowledged as a difficult and demanding golf course. Since 1981 the Gary Player Country Club has been home to the Nedbank Golf Challenge. The golf course requires stamina and accuracy from players. Its comparatively flat nature is misleading - water hazards, cunningly sited bunkers and pins hidden away on kidney shaped greens makes up for the lack of gradient.
Lost City Golf Course
Imagine a place like nothing on earth, a spectacular Royal Palace that rises above lakes and dense forests. The new Desert Golf Course, also designed by Gary Player, with its crocodile infested 13th hole offers a championship level of challenge, par none. No effort was spared to make the course a masterpiece.
Day 8
Transfer with private vehicle and driver/guide for Johannesburg International Airport.
