South Coast
This idyllic coastline stretches from the Umkomaas River as far as Port Edward. An endless stream of seaside villages set in the numerous bays and lagoons characterise this popular holiday area. With its warm waters and mild temperatures it is a perfect year round destination. It boasts some of the best and most scenic golf courses.
Durban offers a subtropical carnival atmosphere, endless summer, an effervescent ocean lined with golden beaches, and thousands of pleasure options. One encounters an exotic melange of mosques, temples and intriguing little shops; the culture and cuisine being influenced by peoples from the Indian Subcontinent and Europe, as well as the proud Zulu nation of KwaZulu-Natal. The cosmopolitan vibe is further enhanced by a constant floating tourist population.
Eighteen kilometres north of Durban, is the popular coastal resort of Umhlanga Rocks with fine hotels and an excellent range of shops and restaurants. Many visitors prefer the more relaxed atmosphere and the excellent beaches that Umhlanga Rocks has to offer.
Pietermaritzburg set in the heart of the KwaZulu Natal midlands is a city of charm with some of the best preserved Victorian buildings. Narrow lanes and quaint shops, the magnificent City Hall, museums, parks and gardens, churches, temples and mosques... this is an intriguing and diverse city that has remained small and welcoming.
The art of country hospitality has been taken to new heights with the wealth of art and crafts, curio shops and country hotels that make up the renowned tourist route known as the Midlands Meander. Hiking, micro-lighting, white-water rafting and many more adventure pursuits make this a delightful area to visit.
Drakensberg
 
uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park, a World Heritage Site, boasts phenomenal scenic beauty with a large variety of Alpine flora, riverine forests and open grasslands. Trails of varying degrees of difficulty, the Tugela Falls, San art, rare black eagles and crystal streams all combine to make this majestic area a worthy stopover.
Elephant Coast
  
Stretches from St Lucia in the south to Kosi Bay in the north, incorporating the Hluhluwe and Umfolozi Game Reserves. The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park with its huge variety of habitats and ecosystems is home to a wealth of plant, bird and animal species. Scuba diving at Sodwana is world renowned and Lake Sibaya is the largest fresh water lakein South Africa.
