Capital: Windhoek
Namibia is a vast land of contrast; cities with colonial type German architecture, wild rugged mountain ranges and endless flat plains, formidable deserts and lush tropical swamps, a land of inspiring landscapes carved from primeval rock formations by fierce climatic extremes. It is becoming known as a safari destination with a difference, offering the opportunity of meeting the indigenous people as well as experiencing the wildlife.
The Namib desert is one of the oldest deserts on earth and is characterised by apricot coloured dunes that can reach a height of up to 300 metres, some of the highest in the world.

Etosha National Park is situated in northern Namibia and within this wilderness lies Etosha Pan, a vast inland lake that dried up more than one million years ago. The park is renowned for its concentration of game.
The Skeleton Coast covers more than a million and a half hectares of sand dunes, gravel plains and desolate fog bound, treacherous coastline. Perhaps it is the silence, peace and solitude of the area, the feeling of being almost on another planet that constitutes its greatest appeal.
