There are only a few great trains in the world and South Africa's renowned Blue Train is undoubtedly one of them. The Blue Train has always been synonymous with luxury, elegance and comfort, and after a thorough refurbishment in 1997 is better than ever. An identical sister train was added in 1998.
All suites have private bathrooms with marble floors, gold fittings and a choice of bath or shower. Individually controlled air-conditioning, a room-safe, remote-controlled television, a telephone and a hairdryer are standard in each suite. Meals are served on fine bone china with classic silver cutlery. Menus are prepared using the freshest ingredients according to the season and the areas through which the train travels, to introduce the guests to the best of South African cuisine.
