Capital: Harare
Zimbabwe, a land locked country, is one of Africa's youngest nations. It lies north of the tropic of Capricorn between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers. On its northern border with Zambia, the country boasts one of the natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls. Further east, the Zambezi River has been dammed to create the vast Lake Kariba, another amazing phenomenon. Hwange National Park is home to incredible herds of buffalo, elephant and sable antelope, and it is perhaps the abundant wildlife which surprises most visitors, especially as the game areas are so vast and unpopulated.

The country's greatest resources are her land, with spectacular scenery from the Matopos where Cecil John Rhodes is buried, to the forests of the Eastern Highlands. The main attractions are in the varied combination of wildlife sanctuaries and the greatest waterfall in the world. It is a country steeped in African history and culture with an agreeable climate.
